Warriors to move hole in wall caused by Dirk's 2007 freakout to new arena

With the Golden State Warriors set to move to the Chase Center in San Francisco next season, at least one infamous feature of their current home at Oracle Arena will be making the move along with them.

A gash in the wall caused by an irate Dirk Nowitzki in the wake of the Dallas Mavericks' loss to the "We Believe" Warriors in the 2007 playoffs will be transferred to Golden State's new abode:

Coming off their defeat in the 2006 Finals, the No. 1 seed Mavericks were heavy favorites over the No. 8 seed Warriors. The underdogs had other plans, however, upsetting the title hopefuls in dramatic fashion, including a 25-point walloping in the decisive Game 6.

After turning in a miserable eight-point, 10-rebound performance in the series-ending game, Nowitzki proceeded to hurl a plastic recycling bin in the visitor's locker room, leaving a hole approximately 12 feet up the wall.

The Warriors ultimately covered the impromptu renovation with plexiglass, and, as NBA.com's Scott Howard-Cooper wrote in 2015, Nowitzki eventually added his signature to the so-called shrine at the request of a member of the arena's staff.
