Twitter erupts with joy over unlikely U.S. curling gold
Those who stayed up into the wee hours of Saturday morning hoping to see the U.S. make history were rewarded when the men's curling team won the country's first gold medal in the event.
Team Shuster's triumph over Sweden was highlighted by an incredible shot in the eighth end which saw the Americans score five to put the match out of reach.
Judging by the reaction on Twitter, it appears most Americans, no matter how unfamiliar they are with the sport, were celebrating along with natives of Duluth, Minn.:
