Norway can now lay claim to the most successful performance by any country in a single edition of the Winter Olympics.

The Scandinavian nation broke the record for the most medals won at the Winter Games by capturing bronze in team Alpine skiing at PyeongChang 2018, bringing its medal total to 38. The previous record was 37, set by the United States at Vancouver 2010.

The Norwegians were most dominant in cross-country skiing, earning 13 medals in the sport by Saturday afternoon in South Korea. They could still add to their haul, as multiple remaining events feature Norwegian skiers among the favorites.

Norway currently sits 10 medals ahead of second-place Canada and 12 ahead of third-place Germany.
