Report: Barboza vs. Lee expected to close out UFC Atlantic City

UFC Fight Night 128's main event will be contested at 155 pounds.

A lightweight tilt between contenders Edson Barboza and Kevin Lee is all but official to headline the bill on April 21 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani reported Friday after Combate first broke the news.

Barboza - who trains under Mark Henry and Ricardo Almeida in the Garden State - will look to rebound from a three-round beating suffered at Khabib Nurmagomedov's hands in December at UFC 219. He'd mounted a three-fight win streak over Anthony Pettis, Gilbert Melendez, and Beneil Dariush prior to the lopsided defeat, and currently sits in the fourth spot of the divisional rankings.

The seventh-ranked Lee aims to get back in the win column himself after tapping to Tony Ferguson in the third round of an interim title bout at UFC 216 in October - a loss that halted a five-fight win streak including four stoppages. He'd survived a grueling weight cut prior to the matchup and fought Ferguson with a staph infection, but appears intent on remaining at lightweight after openly entertaining a move up in divisions.
