It appears as though Jimmie Rivera and Marlon Moraes will soon get to settle their brewing beef.

A five-round tilt between the pair of bantamweight contenders has been targeted as the main event for the UFC's upcoming card at Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, N.Y., on June 1, MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani reports.

The soon-to-be-finalized matchup has been several months in the making, as Moraes - who'd called Rivera out in November - had been expected to fill in for an ailing John Lineker and face the New Jersey native at UFC 219, but negotiations for the short-notice fight ultimately fell through.

Rivera, 28, has won all five of his promotional bouts and a gaudy 20 straight spanning nine years. The Tiger Schulmann scholar was last seen outdueling Thomas Almeida for a unanimous-decision victory at UFC on FOX 25 in July, a verdict that cemented him as the outfit's fourth-ranked bantamweight.

After dropping a split verdict to Raphael Assuncao in his UFC debut last June, Moraes rebounded with one of his own over John Dodson at UFC Fight Night 120 and a brutal first-round KO of Aljamain Sterling just four weeks later at December's UFC Fight Night 123. He sits one spot below Rivera in the promotion's 135-pound pecking order.
