It seems Martellus Bennett has had a change of heart regarding his future as an NFL player.

Despite contemplating retirement in October while a member of the Green Bay Packers, Bennett has expressed a desire to continue playing, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The 30-year-old is set to earn a $2-million roster bonus on March 14, and would carry a cap hit of $6.2 million next season should the New England Patriots retain him, Rapoport adds.

Bennett endured an up-and-down 2017 season that began with the Packers, who released him Nov. 8. The Patriots signed the tight end the next day, and he would appear in two games for them before being placed on season-ending IR with a shoulder injury.

A veteran of 10 NFL seasons, Bennett has caught 433 passes for 4,573 yards and 30 touchdowns with the Patriots, Packers, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Chicago Bears.
