Sterling doubtful for League Cup showdown with Arsenal
Raheem Sterling may be forced to sit out Sunday's League Cup final against Arsenal after Pep Guardiola revealed the attacker is still suffering a muscle complaint from Feb. 13's 4-0 win at FC Basel.
Sterling, who has scored 20 goals for Manchester City across all competitions this season, was left off the matchday squad for Monday's shock FA Cup elimination to Wigan Athletic.
Gabriel Jesus faces a race against time to feature at Wembley. The Brazilian forward picked up a knee injury on New Year's Eve at Crystal Palace and, despite Guardiola stating "every day he is better," he has featured in only three training sessions since returning from the treatment room. A decision will be made on his availability on Saturday.
The Gunners have their own injury issues, with Alexandre Lacazette a certain absentee as he deals with a knee problem. A late decision will be made on whether Aaron Ramsey can feature in the final, but cup-tied Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be watching for the stands after representing Manchester United in the quarter-finals.
