Tampa police believe Buccaneers wide receiver DeSean Jackson had no role in an incident in which a vehicle was found with bullets and marijuana inside, ESPN's Jenna Laine reports.

In fact, police believe Jackson's only involvement is that of a victim.

An investigation began in December after a Chevy Silverado registered to Jackson was found abandoned at a mall with 6.3 grams of marijuana and two .38 caliber bullets inside. The car was involved in a single-vehicle accident and the driver fled the scene.

The case is now inactive as police have yet to find any witnesses or evidence to place a driver responsible. However, it is believed Jackson's friend Therrian Fontenot was the driver at the time of the crash.

"We don't have enough information to definitively say who was driving when the crash took place," police spokesperson Janelle McGregor told Laine.
