Sam Bradford appeared in just two games in 2017, but although the oft-injured quarterback has been through the wringer during his eight-year career, he intends to continue playing in 2018, a source informed NFL Network's Tom Pelissero on Thursday.

Bradford began the year as the starter for the Minnesota Vikings and was brilliant in a season-opening win, but was sidelined for much of the rest of the campaign due to a knee injury. He went under the knife in November and reputed orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews has said the joint and ligaments in his ailing knee are structurally sound and there is no reason for concern going forward, Pelissero reports.

In Bradford's absence, the Vikings moved on with Case Keenum, who led the team to the NFC Championship Game.

Bradford is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent but comes with substantial risk, as he has played a full 16-game season just twice in his career to date.
