Twitter melts down after U.S. beats Canada to win gold

It's safe to say that the women's gold medal game was one for the ages, as the U.S. finally ended Canada's reign to win gold at PyeongChang 2018 following a dramatic shootout.

There was a mix of joy and pain on the ice, but emotions were also running high on social media as Twitter was abuzz during one of the most exciting meetings between the two hockey giants.

After such a lengthy gold drought, Americans were predictably ecstatic to see their women finally beat Canada:
