New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. faces constant criticism from the media and football fans for his perceived immaturity and self-centeredness, but that perception isn't shared by everyone in the Giants' locker room.

"He's not that guy they make him out to be," Giants defensive tackle Damon Harrison said in an appearance on FS1's "Undisputed" on Tuesday. "He's not this immature guy who causes problems everywhere. He's not a problem at all, actually, because if he were, I'd tell you. I'd tell him as well, but he's not."

Harrison added that the emotional outbursts Beckham displays on camera that create so much negative media attention are just his way of rallying his teammates.

"If it's not going right, he shows his emotions. That's how he chooses to lead," Harrison said. "He's a leader. He's a leader of this football team despite what everyone believes."

Beckham will enter the 2018 season on the final year of his rookie contract. He's already made it clear he wants to get an extension done sooner rather than later, and that he wants the contract to make him the league's highest-paid player.
