Pulisic focused on Dortmund rather than 'unbelievable' Premier League

Borussia Dortmund's American wunderkind Christian Pulisic is a fan of the Premier League, but insists he's focused on improving things at the Westfalenstadion.

The teenager apparently courted interest from the likes of Liverpool and boyhood club Manchester United in the January window, but isn't concerned about not following former teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to England.

"Of course, the Premier League is an unbelievable league," Pulisic told ESPN FC. "You never know in football what can happen, so right now, I'm focused with Dortmund and yeah, that's that."

He added: "Our team has been having kind of a rough go of things lately. So many different coaches in the last few months, but yeah, right now, we've just got to turn that around and focus on ourselves."

Pulisic, 19, has come a long way since kicking balls around in Hershey, Pa. He made his professional debut for Dortmund over two years ago, and continues to be a regular starter in the lineup despite playing under three different managers. His exploits certainly haven't gone unrecognised in his native U.S., with 20 international caps already to his name and countless column inches devoted to his nascent talents.

He defended Aubameyang's character after some disciplinary issues at Dortmund, and backed him to make an impact at Arsenal. For now, Pulisic will continue to plug away in Germany, and says he has the support to keep him on level footing.

"My family, and just the people around me in my life - you know, my friends - they take care of me, and whenever I'm too high, they bring me right down, and when I'm too low, they pick me up," Pulisic said. "I've kind of had a perfect balance of that and I've just been able to go through it all with the people I love."

Dortmund's fourth-placed standing in the Bundesliga puts them a whopping 19 points adrift of table-topping Bayern Munich, so attentions are unsurprisingly drifting towards the Europa League. Der BVB takes on Italian upstart Atalanta in their round-of-32 first leg next Thursday.
