Lucas Moura completes Spurs switch

Tottenham has finally dipped its toes in the high-profile frigid winter transfer waters, signing wantaway winger Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain.

The north London lot initially announced the signing with a video posted on its social media on Wednesday, then revealed that the 25-year-old Brazilian joins Spurs on a deal that runs until 2023.

For Lucas, the Premier League switch offers a lifeline for a player who had fallen out of favour in the French capital under Unai Emery. Once a principle part of PSG's plans, Lucas has made just five league appearances this season off the bench to go with an eight-minute run-out against Strasbourg in the league cup.

A right winger who profits from deft dribbling, Lucas is often maligned for his final product. With Tottenham, it's likely the 36-cap international will compete with Moussa Sissoko as Spurs continue the trophy chase on three fronts.

Before luring Lucas to London, Tottenham's transfer window amounted to a half-dozen loan moves, with fringe first-teamer Georges-Kevin Nkoudou's short-term switch to Burnley the most notable transaction.
