While training in New Zealand in October, snowboarder and two-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White was involved in a crash that left him with bruised lungs and facial injuries that required 62 stitches.

Footage of the crash and its aftermath shared by Yahoo Sports on Wednesday shows just how gruesome White's injuries were.

"I definitely scared myself," White, who's trying to qualify for his fourth Olympic Games, said from his hospital bed. "I never really had that much blood coming out of me before."
