New York Giants wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who's been sidelined since mid-October by an ankle injury, is staying committed to his goal of playing in 2018 and has even higher expectations for himself.

Marshall is planning to play another two years, according to Bob Glauber of Newsday, and wants to accomplish enough in that time to be inducted into the NFL's Hall of Fame when he eventually decides to retire.

The 33-year-old has 959 career receptions on 1,633 targets, totaling 12,215 yards and 82 touchdowns. He has played 12 seasons, split between five teams.

He has one year remaining on the two-year, $11-million contract he signed with the Giants last offseason, but there's no guaranteed money remaining on the deal and cutting him would leave the team with just $1 million in dead cap space.

Marshall is aiming to be back in time for March workouts, and says he wants to be so strong he prompts the NFL to test him for steroids or HGH.

He caught just 18 of 33 targets for 154 yards and no touchdowns in five games with the Giants this season.
