If LaVar Ball just wanted his son to play basketball, he probably made the right decision by pulling LiAngelo out of college.

UCLA has officially suspended freshmen Cody Riley and Jalen Hill for the rest of the season, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman. The two were suspended alongside LiAngelo before the start of the season after being caught stealing on the team's trip to China.

Before UCLA set an official timeline on the suspension, LiAngelo withdrew from the program, choosing to play in Lithuania instead, leaving Riley and Hill to endure the punishment without him.

"Since returning from China, they have done everything asked of them and continued to work hard in the classroom and in their own personal workouts," UCLA coach Steve Alford said. "I've told our players all along that actions have consequences, and the season-long suspension shows how seriously we take their misconduct. Though they will not suit up for games or travel with the team, I look forward to their return after the Christmas holiday. I am confident that they will make significant contributions to the university moving forward."

UCLA is currently 8-3 this season.
