Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams is signing a three-year, $83-million extension with $67 million guaranteed, sources told NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

The Lions traded up to select Williams 12th overall in the 2022 draft. The Alabama product's career had a slow start, entering the league while recovering from a torn ACL suffered in college and playing in only six games as a rookie. The NFL then suspended Williams for four contests to start the 2023 season for violating its gambling policy.

However, Williams bounced back with a terrific 2024 campaign, racking up 58 catches for 1,001 yards and seven touchdowns. He also averaged 17.3 yards per reception and had three contests in which he totaled 120-plus yards.

The 24-year-old was still under contract through the 2026 season following Detroit's decision to pick up his fifth-year option. Williams' new reported deal carries an average annual value of $27.6 million, which would rank him as the 13th-highest-paid wide receiver in the league, according to Over The Cap.

Detroit kicks off its 2025 season against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
