Dallas Cowboys pass-rusher Micah Parsons called out team owner Jerry Jones for impeding progress on a contract extension.

"We obviously wanted to get done early. We want that relief. ... But, obviously, ownership is always gonna make it drag out, make it more complicated than it has to be," Parsons said on WWE legend The Undertaker's "Six Feet Under" podcast, per ESPN's Field Yates. "Lack of communication and that standpoint."

Parsons is entering the final season of his contract and is slated to play the 2025 campaign under a fifth-year option worth $24 million. The 2021 first-round pick has been in negotiations on an extension that would likely make him one of the league's highest-paid edge rushers.

The pass-rusher market has reached new heights in 2025. In March, Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett inked a four-year, $160-million megadeal and Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby signed a massive contract that will pay him $35.5 million per season. Most recently, the Pittsburgh Steelers rewarded T.J. Watt with a three-year, $123-million extension Thursday, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

Jones has been proactive in paying his top players, signing Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb to long-term extensions last year.

"We wanted to do the contract last year," Parsons added. "They were just kind of like, 'We want to do Dak and CeeDee.' Then you go out there and perform again and, you know, you would think, like, all right, we'll get it done early."

Despite entering the final year of his contract, Parsons was in attendance for mandatory minicamp. Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, who's also seeking a new deal, held out during the team's sessions.

Parsons, a two-time first-team All-Pro, has 52.5 sacks and 63 tackles for loss in 63 career contests.
