Report: Spurs intend to keep No. 2 pick

The San Antonio Spurs are indicating they intend to keep the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 draft and withhold it from any trade discussions, sources told The Athletic's Sam Amick, Jon Krawczynski, and Kelly Iko.

The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly reached out to the Spurs earlier this week about moving up a spot from the No. 3 pick.

San Antonio has also been heavily linked to Phoenix Suns veteran Kevin Durant, and it's reportedly one of his desired trade destinations. Despite the Spurs being unwilling to deal the No. 2 pick, they are willing to part with the No. 14 pick, Amick, Krawczynski, and Iko added.

It's widely expected the Spurs will take Rutgers star Dylan Harper with the second-overall selection. Harper averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists with the Scarlet Knights this past season and was named to the All-Big Ten third team.

Harper would join a crowded Spurs backcourt that already includes Stephon Castle, De'Aaron Fox, and Devin Vassell.

The Spurs missed the playoffs last season after finishing 13th in the West at 34-48.
