Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes says it's unlikely that he'll try out for a roster spot when flag football makes its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

"I'll probably leave that to the younger guys," Mahomes said, according to Henry McKenna of FOX Sports. "I'll be a little older by the time that comes around."

Mahomes will be 32 years old when the Games kick off in 2028 and will be preparing for his 12th NFL season.

The three-time Super Bowl champion expressed interest in participating in Olympic flag football last summer.

NFL owners unanimously voted to allow players to participate in the Olympics earlier in May. The league is still sorting out specifics for player participation with the NFL Players Association and other parties.

Mahomes has completed 66.6% of his passes for 32,352 yards, 245 touchdowns, and 74 interceptions in 112 career NFL games. The two-time MVP is the league's all-time leader in passing yards, with 288.9 per game.
