Atlanta Braves star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. will begin a rehab assignment in the Florida Complex League on Tuesday, according to Gabe Burns of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Acuña will play the outfield and the Braves will determine when he's ready to move up to Triple-A before ultimately rejoining the major-league roster.

"He's starting his march back," Braves manager Brian Snitker said, according to The Associated Press. "It will be good to just get him running around in the outfield again and getting him at-bats."

The 2023 NL MVP has been sidelined since tearing the ACL in his left knee last May. Acuña also tore his right ACL during Atlanta's World Series-winning campaign in 2021.

The 27-year-old should provide a huge boost to a Braves team that has put together an uneven start to the 2025 season. The Braves started the year 0-7 but have rebounded to go 19-14 in 33 games since.

Braves outfielders have combined for a .593 OPS so far this season, which sits 29th in MLB.

Acuña slashed .250/.351/.365 with four home runs and 16 stolen bases in 49 games before sustaining the injury.
