Barcelona clinched their sixth successive Liga F title with a 9-0 win at Real Betis on Sunday, extending their dominance over Spanish women's football.

The Catalan giants, hoping to repeat their quadruple from last season, have hit top form in the last few weeks, routing Chelsea to reach the Champions League final.

Barcelona moved six points clear of Real Madrid, second, who drew 1-1 against Tenerife, and defended their crown with one game to spare.

Pere Romeu's side have not been at their very best for much of the campaign, losing two games compared to their unbeaten league season last year, with this the closest title race in years.

However they ended it in spectacular fashion in Seville, with Claudia Pina netting a hat-trick.

Ewa Pajor and Alexia Putellas notched braces, while Esmee Brugts and Ballon d'Or holder Aitana Bonmati also found the net in the ruthless rout.

This was Barcelona's 10th Spanish title and Madrid ran them close, even securing their first win over the Catalans in March after 18 consecutive defeats against them.

Barcelona, who have already won the Spanish Super Cup, face Arsenal in Lisbon in the Champions League final, aiming to win the trophy for a third straight year.

Romeu's side then face Atletico Madrid in the Copa de la Reina final on June 7.
