The Winnipeg Jets are one win from the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs after a 5-3 victory in Wednesday's Game 5 versus the St. Louis Blues.

Winnipeg holds a 3-2 series lead, with the respective home team winning every game so far. The Blues had won the previous two contests by a combined score of 12-3.

Vezina Trophy favorite Connor Hellebuyck made 14 saves on 17 shots after being pulled in back-to-back games. Blues netminder Jordan Binnington allowed four goals on 25 shots.

Jets forward Mark Scheifele exited the game with an apparent injury. Vladislav Namestnikov moved up to the top line in his place, and he netted the eventual game-winning goal in the second period.

Winnipeg hasn't advanced to the second round since 2021.

Game 6 in St. Louis is Friday at 8 pm ET.
