Colorado is retiring Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter's jersey numbers, the school announced Monday.

The ceremony will take place during Colorado's spring game on Saturday. They're the fifth and sixth numbers retired by the program and will be the first since Rashaan Salaam's No. 19 in 2017. Sanders and Hunter wore Nos. 2 and 12, respectively.

Sanders and Hunter both spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons playing for the Buffaloes, contributing to the program's turnaround. Colorado finished 9-4 in the 2024 campaign and qualified for the Alamo Bowl, a stark contrast to the team's 1-11 finish in 2022.

Hunter was a two-way star for Colorado, playing both wide receiver and cornerback. The 23-year-old recorded 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense in 2024 while posting a career-high 32 combined tackles and catching four interceptions on defense. Hunter won the Heisman Trophy, becoming the first primarily defensive player to win the award since 1997.

Sanders threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns in his 2024 campaign and rushed for an additional four. He was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award for the top quarterback in college football.

Both players have declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, which takes place from April 24 to 26.
