Brionna Jones signing with Dream
Brionna Jones is signing with the Atlanta Dream, her agent told ESPN's Alexa Philippou.
Jones, a three-time All-Star, has spent her entire career with the Connecticut Sun. She was named Most Improved Player in 2021 and Sixth Player of the Year in 2022.
Jones ranked third on the Sun in scoring last season with 13.7 points while also adding 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.2 steals. Connecticut finished with a 28-12 record and lost in the WNBA semifinals to the Minnesota Lynx.
Sun coach Stephanie White left for the Indiana Fever. The franchise hired Belgian women's national team coach Rachid Meziane to fill the vacancy.
Connecticut reportedly traded three-time All-WNBA forward Alyssa Thomas to the Phoenix Mercury for Natasha Cloud, Rebecca Allen, and the No. 12 pick in the WNBA draft earlier this week.
The Dream also recently signed 10-time All-Star Brittney Griner.
Atlanta made the playoffs last season despite a 15-25 record. The team lost in the first round to the New York Liberty and replaced head coach Tanisha Wright with Florida Gulf Coast coach Karl Smesko.
