Marcus Rashford admitted Tuesday he's ready to leave Manchester United after hearing that the club wants to move him in the January transfer window.

"For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps," Rashford told English football journalist Henry Winter. "When I leave, it's going to be, 'No hard feelings.' You're not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me as a person.

"If I know that a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen how other players have left in the past, and I don't want to be that person. When I leave, I'll make a statement and it will be from me."

The Guardian's Jamie Jackson reported Monday that United want to sell Rashford as part of a cultural shakeup at the club. Co-owner Jim Ratclife and head coach Ruben Amorim seem to agree that Rashford - who was previously dropped by ex-manager Erik ten Hag for showing up late to training - must go to establish a higher standard at United.

Amorim left Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho at home for Sunday's 2-1 win over Manchester City following unsatisfactory performances in training. The Portuguese boss said he evaluates the way his players eat, dress, and engage with teammates before picking his team.

"I do feel misunderstood, but I'm fine with it," Rashford responded. "I'm a very simple person. I love football. That's been my life from the beginning."

It's unclear whether anyone will come in for the 27-year-old in January. He has a contract until June 2028 and reportedly earns £365,000 per week.

Rashford, who has spent his entire professional career at United, has scored seven goals in 23 total appearances this season.
