The Vegas Golden Knights inked winger Keegan Kolesar to a three-year extension carrying an average annual value of $2.5 million, the team announced Friday.

Kolesar was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has recorded seven goals - one shy of matching his career high - and four assists in 29 games with the Golden Knights this season.

Kolesar has established himself as a pivotal member of Vegas' bottom-six forward group. A 2023 Stanley Cup winner with the Golden Knights, Kolesar's 999 hits rank sixth in the league since he became a full-time NHLer in 2020-21.

The Columbus Blue Jackets drafted Kolesar 69th overall in 2015. The Golden Knights acquired him in 2017 in exchange for a second-round pick.
