Major League Baseball will hold its draft lottery Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. ET.

The Miami Marlins and Colorado Rockies have the best odds (22.45%) at landing the No. 1 pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, which goes next summer.

Every MLB team that misses the postseason - with some exceptions - has a shot at receiving the top pick in the next draft via a lottery system. The lottery determines the first six picks, with the remaining teams then drafting in reverse order of their 2024 winning percentage.

The Chicago White Sox are ineligible to pick higher than 10th despite finishing with 121 losses, as MLB prevents non-revenue-sharing teams from receiving a lottery pick in consecutive drafts. The White Sox selected Hagen Smith with the No. 5 pick in 2024.

The Oakland Athletics will pick 11th because of the same rule.

Ethan Holliday, a 17-year-old infielder and the younger brother of Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday, is considered the No. 1 prospect going into next year's draft. Texas A&M outfielder Jace LaViolette, Florida State left-hander Jamie Arnold, and UC Santa Barbara right-hander Tyler Bremner are also among the top draft-eligible prospects, according to MLB Pipeline.

The Boston Red Sox, Rockies, Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, and Toronto Blue Jays have never had the first pick.
