Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa exited Thursday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks after being hit on the forearm by a pitch.

The team called the injury a right wrist contusion, with X-rays coming back negative for a fracture, per Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Correa confirmed he avoided a worst-case scenario postgame.

"I'm ready to play tomorrow. Yes, I'll be in the lineup tomorrow," he said, according to MLB.com's Do-Hyoung Park.

"You think the worst right away, right?" Correa added. "Then when you get the good news, obviously you're very relieved."

The hit-by-pitch occurred in the seventh inning with the Twins leading 13-5. Diamondbacks pitcher Bryce Jarvis ran a fastball inside that struck Correa, who immediately motioned to the Twins' dugout while shaking his head and clutching his arm in pain.

Austin Martin pinch ran for Correa, who left with trainers.

Correa is in the midst of a fantastic campaign for the Twins, having entered Thursday's game slashing .382/.424./.562 in June. He recorded a hit, walked twice, and reached on catcher's interference before leaving the game.
