Forty-year-old former Brazil and Bayern Munich defender Dante has extended his contract with Ligue 1 outfit Nice, the club said Wednesday.

Dante turns 41 in October and will play his ninth season at Nice where he has racked up 283 games including 32 from 34 in the league this season.

After winning the Champions League with Bayern Munich in 2013, Dante was in Brazil's 2014 home World Cup squad and played in the 7-1 defeat to Germany in the semi-final.
