T-Wolves' Edwards teases possible transition to NFL
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards could be moving from the basketball court to the football field in the future.
During an appearance on comedian Marco Summers' show "Open Thoughts," Edwards explained how he was "a football guy growing up" and still has dreams of playing the sport professionally. However, there's one thing he hopes to accomplish in the NBA before pursuing an NFL career.
"First I gotta handle my business in the NBA," Edwards said. "As a team, Minnesota organization, we want to win a championship. And after that, we'll figure that out."

Edwards played running back, quarterback, and cornerback as a young football player growing up in Atlanta before giving up the sport to play basketball.
"I could have been a professional football player," he told SB Nation's Ricky O'Donnell in 2019. "I was really good. I was the No. 1 running back in the country at nine or 10. I stopped playing because I seen my brothers playing basketball. I thought it looked more fun."
Through 14 games this season, the 22-year-old is averaging 26.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists while leading the Timberwolves to an 11-3 record.
