The Seattle Kraken will be without forward Andre Burakovsky for six-to-eight weeks due to an upper-body injury, general manager Ron Francis told The Seattle Times' Geoff Baker.

Burakovsky was injured following a hit from New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba on Saturday. He left the game and didn't return after playing only 6:05.

Trouba was assessed a minor penalty for boarding.

Burakovsky has two assists in six contests this season, both of which came against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday.

The 28-year-old tore his groin in February, which prematurely ended his first season with the Kraken. He was the team's leading scorer at the time of the injury with 39 points in 49 contests.

Seattle has already been without forward Brandon Tanev since the season opener when he was hit in the head by the Vegas Golden Knights' Brett Howden.

The Kraken are sixth in the Pacific Division amid a disappointing 1-4-1 start to the campaign.
