Cowboys' Prescott: I have to play better against 49ers

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is looking to get revenge when his club plays the San Francisco 49ers on the road this weekend.

Prescott believes he needs to play better than he has in the team's back-to-back playoff losses to the 49ers to accomplish this.

"I wasn't my best in either of those games and wasn't close to it. … We've got to go out there and execute the game plan that the coaches have for us - and they've got a great one," said Prescott, according to the Dallas Morning News' Calvin Watkins.

Dallas fell 23-17 to the 49ers in the 2021 wild-card round and 19-12 in last year's divisional round. Prescott averaged 230 passing yards, one touchdown, and 1.5 interceptions over the two games.

San Francisco enters the contest as one of the league's two remaining undefeated clubs.

Prescott said the Cowboys are confident, talented, and have made the right adjustments.

"Yeah, losing to the same team twice in the playoffs is no good feeling. … We're focusing on these guys, and they've got all of our attention, all of our respect," Prescott said. "But at the end of the day, we were confident as hell in who we are and what we've got and what we can bring to the table and where this team is and where this team has grown in the past couple of years. So excited as hell for the matchup."

Dallas enters the weekend with the league's best scoring defense, allowing just 10.3 points per game. The team is also fourth in points per game, scoring 31 per contest.
