The Washington Wizards are finalizing a deal to send veteran guard Chris Paul to the Golden State Warriors for a package that includes Jordan Poole, a protected 2030 first-round pick, and a 2027 second-rounder, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Golden State is including 2022 second-round wing Ryan Rollins in the trade, Charania added.

The Warriors' 2030 first-rounder is top-20 protected, sources tell ESPN's Zach Lowe.

The Wizards previously acquired Paul, along with Landry Shamet and draft picks, from the Phoenix Suns for All-Star guard Bradley Beal. The two teams finalized the deal, with the Suns trading six second-rounders and four first-round pick swaps for Beal, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Washington will receive five second-round picks in consecutive years, spanning from 2024-28, and an additional one in 2030. The pick swaps are in alternating seasons: 2024, 2026, 2028, and 2030.

Paul averaged 13.9 points, 8.9 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 59 games last season for the Suns. The 38-year-old played three seasons with Phoenix, leading the franchise to The Finals in 2021.

Poole averaged 20.4 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.7 rebounds last season for the Warriors. The 23-year-old signed a four-year, $128-million extension in October that lasts until the 2026-27 season.

New Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. said Monday that he planned to keep Poole around for "four more years, at least."

Washington reportedly traded center Kristaps Porzingis to the Boston Celtics in a three-team deal earlier Thursday, with Boston sending former Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Wizards received Tyus Jones, Danilo Gallinari, Mike Muscala, and the No. 35 pick in return.
