Eastern Michigan sophomore Emoni Bates has declared for this year's NBA draft, he told Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Bates, 19, averaged 19.2 points and 5.8 rebounds in his lone season at Eastern Michigan.
A 6-foot-9 forward, Bates was the third-ranked high school recruit by ESPN coming out of Ypsi Prep Academy in 2021, when he committed to Memphis.
He struggled in his freshman season for Penny Hardaway's squad, averaging 9.7 points on just 38.6% from the field. Bates then transferred to Eastern Michigan for his sophomore year.
Bates is projected to be a second-round pick in the draft, which is slated for June 22.
