Former NFL head coach and current ESPN Monday Night Football analyst Jon Gruden has emerged as the betting favorite to replace Butch Jones as head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers for the start of the 2018 season.

Gruden opened as a 20/1 candidate at Bet Online, but his odds have improved to 2.5/1, becoming the No. 1 favorite.

Gruden's first job as a coach was as a graduate assistant at Tennessee for the 1986-87 season.

His career record in the NFL is 100-85 with a victory in Super Bowl XXXVII.
