The Detroit Tigers called up 26-year-old infielder/outfielder Kody Clemens, the youngest son of seven-time Cy Young winner Roger Clemens, on Monday.

The move was necessitated by outfielder Robbie Grossman landing on the injured list with a neck strain.

Clemens is expected to arrive shortly before game time, according to the Detroit News' Chris McCosky, as a left-handed hitting option off the bench.

He will become the first of Roger's offspring to make it to the majors. Kody's three older brothers - Koby, Kory, and Kacy - also played baseball at high levels but never made it to MLB.

Clemens was selected in the third round of the 2018 MLB Draft. The utility man has spent the last two seasons with Triple-A Toledo, hitting .259/.314/.486 with 26 homers and seven stolen bases over 142 games while playing second base, third base, and outfield.

The Tigers host the Minnesota Twins on Monday with first pitch scheduled for 1:10 p.m. ET.
