Former UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade made good on her return to the division.

Andrade submitted Amanda Lemos with a standing arm triangle at the 3:13 mark of the first round in the UFC Fight Night main event Saturday in Las Vegas.

That was the first submission of its kind in UFC history.

Andrade clinched Lemos and quickly attempted to lock in the standing arm triangle. She made some adjustments that tightened the choke and forced the tap from her opponent. Lemos slumped to the canvas after the referee stepped in but didn't quite appear to be out cold.

Andrade competed at 115 pounds for the first time since July 2020. This was her first victory in the division since she won the title against Rose Namajunas in May 2019.

After losing the belt to Zhang Weili and then dropping a rematch versus Namajunas, Andrade moved up to the women's flyweight division. There she went 2-1, beating Cynthia Calvillo and Katlyn Chookagian and losing in a title fight with Valentina Shevchenko.

Lemos, ranked No. 10 at strawweight heading into her first UFC main event, saw her five-fight winning streak come to an end. She's now 5-2 in the promotion.
