Bryson DeChambeau is planning to play on the PGA TOUR for the first time since late January at the Arnold Palmer Invitational next week, according to PGATOUR.com.

The world No. 12 last played competitive golf at the Saudi International in early February, before withdrawing ahead of the second round due to hand and hip injuries.

"It's important to Bryson to try and defend at an event that has Arnold Palmer's name on it, so he's doing everything in his power to play," said Brett Falkoff, DeChambeau's agent. "He'll continue to rehab over the next few days and, without any setbacks, we're hopeful he'll be able to compete next week."

DeChambeau missed the Genesis Invitational, held from Feb. 17-20.

The 28-year-old won the 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational by one stroke over Lee Westwood. The most notable moment of the event occurred during the third round, when DeChambeau hit his tee shot 370 yards across the water on the par-5 6th hole at Bay Hill.

The 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational will once again take place at Bay Hill from March 3-6.
