Machado, Tatis clear air after dugout blowup

San Diego Padres superstars Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr. got into a verbal altercation during their series against the St. Louis Cardinals, and the two players made themselves available to the media on Tuesday to clear the air.
"We handled it internally. ... We haven't been playing such great baseball so emotions get involved, and it gets the better of us," Machado said.
During what wound up being a sweep at the hands of the Cardinals, who now hold the second wild-card spot in the National League, Machado and Tatis were seen yelling at each other and being restrained by teammates on Saturday.

Following the game, Padres manager Jayce Tingler praised Machado's leadership. The skipper said on Tuesday he hasn't lost the clubhouse despite the ongoing slump and clubhouse turmoil.
