The Toronto Raptors are bringing back center Khem Birch on a three-year, $20-million contract, his agent told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Birch excelled as Toronto's starting center down the stretch last season after the Orlando Magic bought him out. The native of Montreal averaged 11.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 30.4 minutes of action across 19 games (17 starts).

The 28-year-old will likely compete with fellow Canadian Chris Boucher and second-year big man Precious Achiuwa for starting minutes following the departure of Aron Baynes.

Birch didn't have much opportunity to earn significant playing time with Orlando due to the presence of Nikola Vucevic; he averaged 4.7 points and 4.4 rebounds in 16.5 minutes per game in three-plus seasons with the Magic.
