The Texas Rangers added veteran left-hander Wade LeBlanc on a minor-league contract Tuesday, announced John Blake, the team's executive vice president of communications.

LeBlanc, 36, became a free agent last Thursday after exercising an in-season opt-out while in the Baltimore Orioles' minor-league system. The southpaw made six appearances with the Orioles this year, posting a 9.45 ERA and 4.17 FIP over 6 2/3 innings.

LeBlanc has appeared for eight different teams at the major-league level over a 13-year career. He possesses a 46-48 record, authoring a 4.59 ERA and 4.73 FIP over 889 innings while working equally as a starter and a reliever.

The Rangers' pitching staff ranks 13th in the American League, according to FanGraphs WAR, collectively authoring a 4.46 ERA and 4.23 FIP.
