The Green Bay Packers appear to be maintaining their stance regarding Aaron Rodgers' status with the franchise.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst still insists he won't trade Rodgers, a source told Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

The reigning NFL MVP didn't report to the start of Green Bay's voluntary organized team activities last week, and he isn't contractually obligated to join the team until its mandatory minicamp begins on June 8.

Rodgers has been frustrated with the Packers and is reportedly set on staying away unless Gutekunst is fired.

If Green Bay were to trade the 37-year-old after June 1, the club would free up $16.05 million in cap space while taking a $21.15 million dead-money hit this year.

The Packers would be willing to move Rodgers if they believed he's truly committed to never playing for them again, with the team preferring to receive compensation in return as opposed to forcing him to retire, according to Schneidman.

Jordan Love, the club's 2020 first-round pick, has been taking first-team snaps during practice amid Rodgers' absence.
