AEW files trademark for Paul Wight's 'The Waterboy' character

All Elite Wrestling has plans to use Paul Wight's wrestling character, Captain Insano, from the 1998 Adam Sandler comedy "The Waterboy" in an upcoming video game.

The wrestling promotion recently filed a trademark application for Captain Insano for use in video games and digital media, according to Gisberto Guzzo of Fightful.

The filing reads, "Mark For: CAPTAIN INSANO trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of video game cartridges and discs; Digital media, namely, pre-recorded DVDs, downloadable audio and video recordings, and CDs featuring and promoting wrestling; Downloadable video game software; Recorded video game software."

Wight, formerly known as "The Big Show," signed with AEW last month after a 22-year stint with WWE.
