Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was named the MVP of Super Bowl LV after a three-touchdown performance against the Kansas City Chiefs, claiming the award for a fifth time to extend his own record.

Brady threw for 201 yards on the Buccaneers' home field at Raymond James Stadium, going 21-of-29 passing without committing a turnover. He steered Tampa Bay to a 31-9 rout of the Chiefs, who were looking to repeat as champions after winning Super Bowl LIV.

Brady and the Buccaneers started slowly Sunday night, picking up just one first down over their first two possessions. They settled in after that, and Brady wound up throwing a first-quarter touchdown pass for the first time during his 10 trips to the Super Bowl.

The 43-year-old confirmed from the podium postgame that he'll return in 2021 to defend the championship rather than retire on top.
