The Kansas City Royals have re-signed right-handed reliever Greg Holland.

The agreement is for a one-year, $2.75-million deal, sources told Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Holland returned to Kansas City in 2020 after spending the previous three seasons pitching for four different clubs. The 35-year-old posted a 1.91 ERA and 0.95 WHIP over 28 1/3 innings.

The Royals' former 2007 10th-round pick was a key piece of Kansas City's bullpen from 2011-15, being named to two All-Star teams and recording 145 saves during that time.

Holland then missed the entire 2016 campaign recovering from Tommy John surgery before latching on with the Colorado Rockies ahead of the 2017 season.

The Royals' bullpen could be a source of strength in 2021 with Holland back in the mix alongside effective relievers Josh Staumont and Scott Barlow.
