Belinelli was selected 18th overall by the Golden State Warriors in 2007, though it took several years for him to find his footing in the league. In addition to the pre-Stephen Curry Warriors, "Beli" had brief stops with the then-New Orleans Hornets, Toronto Raptors, and Chicago Bulls before a career-redefining move to the San Antonio Spurs in 2013.
The 2013-14 campaign proved to be the high-water mark of Belinelli's NBA career. In addition to winning that season's 3-point contest at All-Star Weekend, he played a key rotation role as the Spurs toppled the Miami Heat in the 2014 Finals.
After another series of pit stops with the Sacramento Kings, Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Hawks, and Philadelphia 76ers, Belinelli returned for a second two-season stint in San Antonio. He played 15.5 minutes per game off the bench for the Spurs last year.
For his career, Belinelli averaged 9.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game and shot 37.6% on long balls.
