The Chicago Cubs are already bracing for what the 2021 campaign could bring.

Chicago doesn't expect Wrigley Field to be open for full capacity at the beginning of next season, sources told Jesse Rogers of ESPN. The club is reportedly following advice from medical experts and restrictions from local ordinances.

Though an exact number of spectators isn't yet known, the team expects the ballpark to operate at 50% capacity and hopes attendance will be able to return to normal by the end of the season.

The 2020 Major League Baseball season was delayed until late July due to the coronavirus pandemic. Fans haven't been permitted to attend any MLB games throughout the schedule.
