The Vancouver Canucks signed forward Nils Hoglander to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Vancouver drafted Hoglander 40th overall in 2019. The 19-year-old spent his last two seasons with Rogle BK of the Swedish Hockey League, collecting 16 goals and 30 points in 91 games.

"Nils is a dynamic player with a high skill level and a strong work ethic," Canucks general manager Jim Benning said. "He's a creative playmaker with great hands and goal-scoring abilities. We're pleased to sign Nils today and look forward to seeing continued development in his game next season."

Hoglander impressed at the 2020 World Junior Championship, racking up five goals and 11 points while helping guide Sweden to a bronze-medal finish.
