The 70th edition of the Midsummer Classic between the American League and National League provided a memorable highlight when the nominees for the Major League Baseball All-Century Team were revealed, including Boston Red Sox legend Ted Williams.

The contest also saw a historic performance by Red Sox ace Pedro Martinez, who thrilled Fenway Park with a dazzling barrage of strikeouts.
